Senior Policy Analyst

Tsvetelina joined IEEP in March 2018 as a Senior Policy Analyst for the Climate and Environmental Governance Programme. Previously, she was the Head of the Environmental Governance Unit of the Regional Environmental Center (REC, Hungary). At the REC she was the environmental law and governance senior expert and an international project manager (2002-2017). She has also served as a seconded legal expert at the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna, reviewing the legislative measures adopted by the parties transposing the EC environmental acquis within the scope of the Energy Community Treaty. She has 17 year of international professional experience.
Tsvetelina has deep experience in undertaking detailed legal analysis and reviews. She has compiled and co-authored a number of handbooks and other publications including: the Handbook on the Implementation of EC Environmental Legislation, (December 2008) and the Handbook on Access to Justice under the Aarhus Convention (March 2003). She has an MSc degree in Environmental Sciences and policy and LLM in Law and international relations. She is a certified mediator in ‘Alternative dispute resolution and mediation’ and an experienced facilitator of international meetings.
At IEEP she has led or been involved in a variety of projects focusing on environmental governance and implementation of SDGs.
