Secretary General of the Alpine Convention to speak at the IEEP-IES Environmental Policy Forum on 6 May

The Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) and Institute for European Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (IES) are to co-host, as part of their ongoing Environmental Policy Forum, an event on ‘Environmental Policy and Legislation: the EU and the Alpine Convention’.

The event will take place on Wednesday 6 May 2009 from 12noon-2pm at the IES office, Pleinlaan 15, Brussels 1050.

The keynote speaker will be Mr Marco Onida, Secretary General of the Alpine Convention, a regional agreement to which the EU and all Alpine countries are contracting parties. He will present the Alpine Convention and its Protocols and reflect on the interaction between the international cooperation between the Alpine countries within this framework and EU environmental policy and legislation.
