Founded in 1976, IEEP is the only Brussels-based think tank dedicated to EU environmental policy research and has stood as a beacon for generations of experts and policymakers. Independent and evidence-based, IEEP provides strategic intelligence on how Europe can turn environmental policy into a driver of competitiveness, resilience, and innovation. Our work provides policy-makers and businesses with clear evidence and actionable insights to navigate Europe’s transition with confidence. 

From the Common Agricultural Policy to water pollution control, from nature restoration to the development of sustainable finance standards, IEEP’s work has been instrumental in some of the founding environmental principles and laws in both the European Union and its member states, providing inspiration and leadership globally.
