Changes in IEEP management as from January 2025

Executive Director Eero Yrjö-Koskinen has announced his departure from IEEP at the end of December 2024. “After two years of intensive work, it’s time to pass on the torch to someone else who can further promote IEEP’s work as a centre of excellence”, says Eero Yrjö-Koskinen.

The IEEP Board recognises the valuable support that Eero Yrjö-Koskinen has provided to the organisation. Hans Wolters, the Chairperson of the Board, thanks Eero Yrjö-Koskinen for his extensive efforts and considers that the organisation is now better equipped to face future competition in Brussels.

Eero’s patient and calm attitude helped to streamline IEEP’s activities so that it would better comply with the external needs of the organisation. We sincerely thank him for his input and wish him success in the next steps of his career. As from January 2025, Research Director Antoine Oger will act as interim Executive Director until further notice,” says Hans Wolters.

I am thankful for the possibility to work with wonderful colleagues during the past two years. I trust that IEEP will continue to have an important role in providing feasible solutions to the many challenges that we are currently facing in Europe and globally. Special thanks to our dedicated staff, board and supporters who have strived to build a more sustainable and fair future for all”, adds Eero Yrjö-Koskinen.

IEEP is an independent think tank based in Brussels. With a staff of 30 people, it produces reports and policy recommendations on a wide variety of topics ranging from agriculture, biodiversity, land use and climate, as well as circular economy and global issues.

In addition, IEEP coordinates the activities of Think Sustainable Europe, a network of 17 think tanks from different parts of Europe. Furthermore, it organises high-level events in conjunction with the rotating Presidency of the European Council in the framework of the Think2030 platform which represents the industry, policymakers, think tanks, and civil society organisations.
