IEEP announces the appointment of Antoine Oger as Interim Executive Director as of 1 January 2025. Antoine’s appointment follows the departure of Eero Yrjö-Koskinen in December.
A seasoned expert in EU’s internal and external climate policies, Antoine first joined IEEP in 2021 to lead the Global Challenges and SDGs team, working on trade and sustainable development amongst other things. In 2023, he was appointed Research Director to coordinate IEEP’s overall research work, fundraising efforts, and IEEP’s representation.
Commenting on his appointment, Antoine Oger said: “This position comes with huge responsibilities but also extraordinary opportunities to play our part in fostering a society where people can live well and pursue their goals while remaining within planetary boundaries. IEEP and its partners from the Think Sustainable Europe network will continue to work with stakeholders across EU Institutions, academia, civil society and industry to play their parts in researching, refining, operationalising and promoting these solutions to advance toward the EU’s objective enshrined in its treaties to live well within planetary boundaries.”
