We were saddened to learn about the passing away of Domingo Jimenez-Beltrán, a long-standing collaborator, advisor and friend of IEEP, on Tuesday 7 February.
Beyond his ground-breaking work as the first Executive Director of the European Environmental Agency, Domingo Jimenez-Beltrán dedicated many years of his life to the Institute for European Environmental Policy as member of our Board, and later as member of our Strategic Advisory Council.
Domingo was an active, energetic, insightful expert, who paired environmental intelligence with well-reasoned policy activism. We will remember him for his deep commitment to nature and the environment, as well as his warm and generous spirit.
We would like to extend our condolences to his family and loved ones.
