Draft programme of the Transatlantic Civil Society Conference on Climate Change, 24 to 25 April 2008

Draft programme for the T-PAGE conference on climate change.

The Transatlantic Platform for Action on the Global Environment (T-PAGE) was created as a forum to facilitate debate among members of EU and US civil society on climate change and energy issues. This dialogue aims to foster a better level of understanding of what is happening in Europe and the US, how action and policy might differ or converge and what lessons can be learnt from each other’s experience. As part of this dialogue, two teleconferences were held in 2007 involving key representatives of EU and US civil society. At the first of these meetings emissions trading, biofuels and carbon capture and storage were highlighted by participants as priorities for debate. At the second meeting, participants discussed these issues in more detail drawing conclusions on their value and limitations as policy tools.
