Isabella Wedl has been working with IEEP as a Senior Policy Analyst since September 2025. She is a research consultant with a focus on Food System Transformation and Climate Policy and has collaborated with, e.g., the Food System Economics Commission, UN IFAD, and the Forum New Economy. Before that, she was a project manager at the sustainability consultancy SYSTEMIQ, and worked as a sustainability manager for the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest applied research organisation. Her work experience spans policy research on the repurposing agricultural subsidies, the political economy of food systems, financing sustainable agriculture transitions, and a just transition in the context of the European Green Deal.

She holds a PhD in sustainability politics and a Master’s in International Cultural and Business Studies, and is fluent in English and German.
