Impacts of climate change and renewable energy on Natura 2000

This series of reports reviewed evidence of climate change impacts on biodiversity in Europe, assessed the vulnerability of species of Community interest, examined the distribution of vulnerable species across the Natura 2000 network and identified policy measures that may facilitate biodiversity adaptation in the EU. It also assessed the potential impacts of renewable energy technologies on Natura sites and their species. IEEP led the analysis of biodiversity adaptation requirements and potential policy instruments / measures and preparation of policy recommendations, and assessed the impacts of climate change on species and habitats together with AEA. It provided the basis for Commission guidance on how to manage impacts of climate change on the Natura 2000 network. The summary report is published by the European Commission.
