CONCITO and DOOR join the Think Sustainable Europe network

Think Sustainable Europe (TSE), the network of sustainability think tanks coordinated by IEEP welcomes 2 new members, bringing it to a total of 17 organisations across Europe.

IEEP is glad to welcome CONCITO from Denmark and DOOR – Society For Sustainable Development Design from Croatia. In addition, IEEP UK and SEI Tallinn have become associate members, which extends the coverage of the network to 16 European countries.

2022 was a crucial year for the network’s consolidation, which strengthened its collaborative impact. From the Think2030 conference in Paris and the production of policy briefs to a series of high-level meetings with officials from the European institutions, the network’s researchers delivered solid analysis and recommendations on key policy dossiers for the implementation of the European Green Deal.

Several initiatives are already in the pipeline for the coming months, such as the Think2030 Dialogue which will be held in Stockholm on 20 April. Co-organised by IEEP and SEI with the support of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU, it will be the next major event where TSE members will be called to contribute their expertise and knowledge.

About the new members

CONCITO work to translate relevant knowledge into climate action and thereby accelerate the green transition in Denmark and internationally. Through scientific and knowledge-based analyses and information, the aim is to demonstrate the possibility of creating a climate-neutral and climate-resilient society. Through TSE, we hope to collaborate with peers on the generation of policy-relevant knowledge, exchange EU-related ideas, expertise and intel and to initiate joint efforts in order to maximise political impact.

Main research areas: energy and climate, agriculture, food and land use

“Think Sustainable Europe has the potential to help translate relevant knowledge into accelerated climate action. Through this alliance of like-minded think tanks from across the European continent, we can leverage our respective expertise to enact evidence-based change on a European and, ultimately, global scale.”

Christian Ibsen, CEO, CONCITO

DOOR – Society For Sustainable Development Design work to contribute to achieving a just and carbon-neutral society, adapted to unavoidable climate change, in which the public takes part in delivering, monitoring, and evaluating public policies, and sustainable energy plays an important role in social, economic, and ecological development and decreasing poverty. In general, DOOR aims to contribute to achieving a low-carbon society, adapted to unavoidable climate change without energy poverty. DOOR has extensive experience in project management and coordination of EU projects. They are specialised in evidence-based advocacy for climate change and energy public policies, and has extensive experience in engaging with local communities, and national and EU decision-makers.

Main research areas: energy and climate policy, energy communities and energy poverty

“In the current climate crisis, knowledge and evidence-based policymaking are more important than ever, and Think Sustainable Europe ensures that expert know-how and competencies are recognised by policymakers and embedded in their decisions. DOOR, together with other involved organisations, contributes to the inclusiveness and creation of knowledge-based policies.”

Miljenka Kuhar, Executive Director, DOOR
