The European Green Policy Barometer is back! Take part in the survey

The Institute for European Environmental Policy has launched the 2026 edition of the annual European Green Policy Barometer survey. Building on previous editions of the European Green Deal Barometer, this year’s survey gathers the views of sustainability experts, policymakers, researchers, civil society representatives, businesses, and practitioners on the future of Europe’s green transition.

The Barometer serves as a “confidence indicator” for Europe’s environmental and climate agenda, helping identify emerging priorities, implementation gaps, political challenges, and opportunities for accelerating a fair and effective transition across Europe.

Help shape the future of Europe’s green transition

As Europe enters a decisive phase for climate, biodiversity, competitiveness, energy security, and industrial transformation, understanding expert perspectives is more important than ever. The 2026 European Green Policy Barometer explores how current EU priorities and political developments are influencing the delivery of Europe’s environmental objectives and long-term sustainability ambitions.

The survey results will contribute to IEEP’s ongoing work supporting evidence-based policymaking and informing debates on the future of European environmental governance.

About the survey

The European Green Policy Barometer is IEEP’s annual expert survey examining progress, expectations, and challenges related to Europe’s environmental and climate policy agenda. The 2025 Barometer edition gathered the perspectives of more than 160 sustainability experts from Europe and beyond, focusing particularly on the international dimension of the Green Deal and its global implications. More info on previous editions can be found here.
