Under the patronage of the Dutch Presidency of the Council, IEEP and the Fisheries Secretariat organised a high level conference to discuss the environmental challenges facing the EU fisheries sector and ways to overcome these. The event was held at the European Parliament on 8 and 9 November 2004, and is guided by a steering committee comprising international fisheries managers and other experts, including scientists and economists.
